- Amsterdam is the financial and business capital of the Netherlands.[52] Amsterdam is currently one of the best European cities in which to locate an international business.
- It is ranked fifth in this category and is only surpassed by London, Paris, Frankfurt and Barcelona.
- Though many small offices are still located on the old canals, companies are increasingly relocating outside the city centre.
- The Zuidas (English: South Axis) has become the new financial and legal hub
Dear Sir,
Greetings from India. We are a charitable eye hospital providing free cataract surgery to the aged and indigent in the Thar Desert region of India for the last 30 years. You could view details of our work at http://www.eyecamps.org, which is the website of our UK based supporters, a registered charity, called the “UK Friends of the Tarabia Desai Eye Hospital.”
This group has as its patron the Rotary Club of Hendon, London and the charity is an official RIBI project.
In order to continue, improve and expand our eye care work at the eye hospital, we are seeking partners and donors from Europe, who could sponsor free eye operations and donate equipment. I would like to form a Rotary network of supporters in Europe.
I shall be in Amsterdam from 12-16th June for a medical congress and I would like to talk to your Rotary Club about the project. I will be very happy if you would give me a time slot of about ¾ of an hour in your meeting to make a slide show presentation.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and hope, in the meantime, that you will take a few moments to read the attachments, which depicts some of the work we are doing in India.
Yours sincerely
Rtn. Dr. Sanjiv Desai
